SIMI VALLEY, Calif. - Dec. 4, 2018 - PRLog -- Families and residents of Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties are invited by Special Olympics Southern California to a special evening in the spirit of giving and holiday celebration!

Around the world, Special Olympics celebrates its 50th anniversary of the Inclusion Revolution, a global movement to break down barriers of unity, tolerance, and respect for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

In SoCal, Special Olympics Southern California ignites Inspire the Light, a benefit for local Special Olympics athletes to be held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library on Dec. 14 from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

Inspire the Light will be a family-friendly evening with ceremonial lighting of the Special Olympics Eternal Flame of Hope, wine reception, dinner, and silent auction under the wings of Air Force One, where partners in local law enforcement will feature special vehicles.

All proceeds from Inspire the Light benefit local Special Olympics athletes and programs.

"The Ventura County Regional Leadership Council of SOSC and our partners have planned a beautiful evening where everyone in the community can gather around the mission of Special Olympics' passion for inclusion and opportunity for people with intellectual disabilities," said Inspire the Light Chair, Kimberly Alsabery.

"We welcome the community's support of our local Special Olympics athletes and their families by enjoying a lively evening of holiday lights at our community's local educational treasure, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library."

Event attendance includes exclusive after-hours access to exhibits including Air Force One Pavilion, Christmas Tree Display, Pompeii Exhibit and the Library's first annual Holiday Lights Exhibit.
