The association's report offers detailed insight into the professional pet-sitting industry, examining the potential for growth, the challenges of growing competition and projected industry trends.
PSI anticipates that increasing competition in the pet-care marketplace, particularly from "hobbyists" on tech platforms (hobbyists are individuals who may offer pet care, but do not operate legitimate, professional businesses), will influence the way professional pet sitters build and market their businesses in the coming year. This will include a growing focus on credentials and certification, websites with strong local SEO, and personalized services and superior customer care.
