ATLANTA - Dec. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- With millions standing in solidarity for the Me Too movement, the United Nations, Balsam International and Divas In Defense kick off 16 days of activism through the UN's  #HearMeToo initiative to UNiTE to eliminate violence against women and girls. The UN's program runs from November 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) through December 10th (International Human Rights Day). Divas In Defense joins the efforts in Balsam's home country of Kuwait beginning their 3-day certification courses on December 1st through December 16th.

The only program of this length in Kuwait & The GCC, the interactive classes are being taught by 4th degree black belt (Tae Kwon Do) holder and Divas In Defense's Program Director (and master instructor), Skye Walton. The company's Vice President of Operations, Vanessa Parker is on ground facilitating the certification training and raising awareness through the company's mission and vision.

Catapulting off of the success of Balsam International's 2017 #BeStrong campaign, Divas In Defense, and Olympic fencing champion Balsam Al-Ayoub partner again to take a stand against domestic violence. Over a two-week period last year, Divas In Defense successfully trained 600+ women and girls on how to protect themselves in the event of a situational crisis, an act of sexual assault or physical abuse.

"The global domestic abuse and sexual assault statistics are staggering. We want to change the numbers—we want to see them decrease substantially. Our mission is to empower women and girls by changing the narrative. International programs like these are getting us closer to that goal," said Divas In Defense founders Cole Parker and Christopher Britto.

Balsam International's #BeStrong Movement is in its third year, and Divas In Defense happily came on board for the second consecutive year. During its three year history, the #BeStrong initiative has provided training to over 2,000 women including schoolgirls, domestic workers and police officers. This sophomore effort  with DID will impact hundreds more women spanning 35 nationalities.

Over 16 days, Divas In Defense will instruct the multi-class series at The US Embassy, American University Kuwait, Canadian Bilingual School, Jumeirah Messilah Hotel, Kuwait University, Australian College of Kuwait and other locations. Certified class types are: Unbreakable, Diamond, Heroes, Survivors, Bravery, Warriors and Powerful. Classes are completely free and are open to ladies age 12+. Men are not permitted to register or participate.

Because of their expertise, Divas In Defense has appeared on CNN, NBC, CBS, E! Network, Bravo TV and Lifetime TV and more—providing valuable information to audiences worldwide. Since 2010, the self-defense corporation has instructed major corporation executives, private groups, multiple Girl Scouts of America chapters, American public schools, college students, and every day working women.
