TORONTO - Dec. 3, 2018 - PRLog -- If you have been using a Smartphone, then you have more than likely at one point complained about the shortness of the battery life. As amazing as these phones are, phones have now become much more than simply placing calls. Therefore, this extended usage is leading to the battery not lasting as long. Some users may even find themselves having to charge their phone multiples times a day. This constant recharging in turn can further the shorter battery life and can some cases even lead to Mobile Device Repair and battery repair.

How to Increase Battery Life

Fortunately, there are a couple of ways for you to increase your battery life. Below, The Fone Guys have listed a couple of tips and tricks to get the best performance out of your battery life.

Temperature – In hope of protecting their phone, most people will put a phone case on their phone. However, most people are unaware that this can also be damaging to the battery life. When charging your phone there will be extra heat generated, and if your phone case is on that heat will not be dispersed properly. Therefore, always make sure to take off your phone case when charging your phone.

Software – Software updates not only help you stay up to date with the latest applications, they also serve as a way to ensure that your battery's power is used efficiently across all processes. There will generally be improvements on the battery as well if you update the software.

Partial Charge – It is actually better if you only charge your phone halfway, because it extends the storage time and save the battery. Therefore, if you know that you won't be using it for an extended period of time, then you can only charge it to 50%.

Battery Replacement

The tips above are great for extending your battery life, however sometimes the battery is in need of replacement. You can use the system check function on your phone to get a snapshot of your battery health which will help you when making a choice to replace it or keep it. Many phones also have built-in alerts to inform you when your battery is critical and must be replaced. The longer your battery takes to charge, the poorer its health is, once it reaches 30% health, it's better to replace it.

How to Replace Your Battery

Phone batteries do fail, and if yours has given up, it's time to find a new one. Replacing your phone battery isn't difficult, but there are a few guidelines you should follow.  If you have a phone with a removable battery, all you have to do is purchase a replacement that is manufacturer approved. Phones that are not equipped with removable batteries must be sent to the original company, taken to a provider service center, or to a reliable phone repair shop.
