New Jersey State Children's Chorus performs in An Ars Musica Holiday

The New Jersey State Children's Chorus will appear as featured performers in Ars Musica Chorale's annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 8 at 7 pm in Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 155 Linwood Ave., Ridgewood, NJ. Tickets are available at www.njstatechildrenschorus.org. The venue is accessible and large-print programs are available.
Based in Ridgewood, the NJSCC is open to children in grades kindergarten through seven. Enrollment is ongoing. Interested children are welcome participate in up to two rehearsals before joining to ensure a positive experience. Singing with the NJSCC provides a child with musicianship training, community, and performance opportunities. Appointments may be scheduled through the website.
Artistic Director James Kennerley, also the Music Director/Conductor of Ars Musica, has said of his experience with the children, "It's such a joy for me to work with such talented, beautiful singers. And what a beautiful sound they make!"
Kennerley began his musical career as a chorister at Chelmsford Cathedral in his native England at age 10. Today, he is a multi-faceted musician, working as a conductor, keyboardist, singer, and composer. An accomplished organist, his performances are known for their illustrious flair and thrilling virtuosity, subtlety and finesse, drawing on the full resources of the instrument. He has given concerts at Washington National Cathedral, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Princeton University, the Royal Albert Hall, Saint Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, and other major venues throughout the United States and Europe.
