Local Teen Star Athlete Kicks off annual "Christian's Christmas Crusade" Toy Drive

3rd Annual event to benefit patients at Texas Children's Hospital Cancer Center
By: Christian DesChamps

CYPRESS, Texas - Nov. 26, 2018 - PRLog -- Houston area teen activist and athlete, Christian DesChamps, 14, created his own toy drive to benefit the children fighting cancer at Texas Children's Hospital when he was only twelve years old, and, in just the first two years, he rallied the community to help him donate over 3000 toys to the cause.  2018 marks the third annual "Christian's Christmas Crusade", and, with your help, he hopes to surpass last year's tally of 2000 toys - to bring the total to over 5000 toys donated to children receiving treatment at the hospital over the holidays.

DesChamps began his young philanthropic mission by honoring local child cancer patients at each of his triathlons.  When the first Christmas season came after he began, it dawned on him that many kids will spend their holidays in the hospital, and he wanted to do something extra to help during this special time of year.  It was then that Christian's Christmas Crusade was born.

DesChamps has partnered with some great organizations to help accept donations and spread the word, he hopes that this year is the biggest yet, and he looks forward to welcoming new contributors and partners on board to help make a positive impact.

DesChamps is a talented and record-placing triathlete, including becoming the 2017 USA Triathlon National Youth Champion, and is currently in training at the USA Cycling Olympic Development Team.  He has been seen on television and in newspapers over the last two years in his mission to raise money and awareness for children fighting cancer, in support of the Pinky Swear foundation, raising thousands of dollars for the cause and winning races and placing at the podium for the majority of races he competes in.

There are TWO ways to donate: Donations are accepted via his Toy Drive Wish List online at Amazon or via drop-off at one of three locations of toy drive partner Cypress Academy/Prodigy All-Stars.  All donations will benefit children from babies to teenagers, so DesChamps encourages potential donors to choose toys on or off his suggested list that fit their budget or preference.

Donations are accepted thru Sunday, December 16th, after which, DesChamps will be delivering them to the Cancer Center.  DesChamps hopes you will help spread the word about #ChristiansChristmasCrusade this holiday season, and welcomes press interviews about the toy drive.
