By: United Premier Soccer League
Based in Bartlesville (Okla.), Reign FC will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference North Division, and host its home games at Madison Middle School (5900 SE Baylor Drive, Bartlesville, OK 74006) in compliance with UPSL's Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League Central Conference Manager Matt Kahla said, "Oklahoma has a strong soccer culture and tradition, and we're pleased to welcome Reign FC to the UPSL's Central Conference. Founder Matt Mason has an exciting vision for his home town, and we're behind him as he brings Pro Development soccer to another great market that's been underserved for too long. Good luck to Reign FC as it prepares for the 2019 Spring Season."
Matt Mason, 27, is Founder and President of Reign FC. A native of Bartlesville (Okla.), Mason was a four-year varsity player and graduated from Bartlesville High School before playing at Northern Oklahoma College (NJCAA) and Oklahoma Wesleyan University (NAIA). He played professionally with Tulsa Revolution (MASL) from 2012-'14.
Reign Football Club Founder and President Matt Mason said, "Most importantly, I want to help grow the game here in Oklahoma. Adding a Professional Development team to the area will give the local players a bigger platform to compete upon, and provides the local community with a positive place to bring the families to see exciting soccer. Being a member of the UPSL is going to help us do that. We're looking forward to the challenge and are excited to get started."
Mason attended the D.C. United (MLS) Academy as an 18-year-old and later trialed at Hereford United Football Club (England) and Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL). He has coached for several U.S. Youth Soccer Clubs, most recently with Houston Texans SC.
Reign FC will host tryouts beginning in January, and soon will announce its upcoming UPSL game schedule.
