LANSING, Mich. - Nov. 20, 2018 - PRLog -- The much-anticipated first-look at the contemporary family drama, 'MBF' (Man's Best Friend), a production of award-winning Lansing (Mich.) based production company Collective Development Incorporated (CDI), will provide audiences with an extra helping of Thanksgiving Day goodness.

Filmed in Michigan in late Spring, the first-look trailer will be linked to CDI's YouTube and premiered on MBF's Facebook social media site - Thursday at 6 p.m. EST.

"Families and friends gather on this traditional holiday and our producing team felt this would be an excellent time to share the thanks we have for being allowed to do what we love, telling stories of merit for the screen," said CDI's DJ Perry, who wrote the screenplay, supervised production and stars with a powerful ensemble cast.

The old axiom, 'Art imitates life,' is a prevailing theme throughout 'MBF' (Man's Best Friend), as we follow Marine Corps dog handler, Sgt. Paul Landings (Mr. Perry), from the killing fields of Helmand Province, Afghanistan, to his struggles on the home front as a wounded warrior battling traumatic brain injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trying to 'fit in' and find a semblance of peace in his life with his dogs.

At the epicenter of the state-side story is the 'Sawyer' family. Highly successful businessman and mayor, 'Quinn Sawyer' (Dean Teaster) is also a recent widower with two teen-age sons to rear on his own. Eighteen-year-old 'Charlie' (David Michael Reardon) is the local high school's star football quarterback, a collegiate and professional baseball pitching prospect, and 'All-American Boy.' His younger brother 'Wyatt' (Walker Fairbanks), loves his father and brother, but is highly and typically impressionable.

As the story unfolds, and the action moves to a small mid-Michigan courtroom, the lines between good and evil, right and wrong, and whether or not 'you can go home again,' are continually blurred.

Other members of the highly eclectic cast of 'MBF' include:

Don Most (best known for his iconic role as 'Ralph Malph' in the TV sitcom 'Happy Days') as defense attorney 'Ian Tapper'; Curran Jacobs as defense attorney 'Quincy Rowan'; Tim Abell as 'Robert Landings'; Melissa Anschutz as assistant prosecutor 'Lisa Bixby'; Garry Nation as Prosecutor Ed Hammins; Shane Hagedorn as 'Deputy Duane Palmer'; Jim Greulich as 'Sheriff Hal Rogers'; Greg Mason as 'Jim'; Lauren LaStrada as 'Judge Judith Mays'; Kimberly Harsch as 'Nancy Hammins'; Christine Marie as 'Dr. Keller'; David Gries as 'Fire Chief Thomas'; Donovan Rogers as 'Josh'; Maris Fett as 'Rachel'; Erica Overholt as 'Gail'; Sammy Publes as 'Corrections Officer Armando Reyes'; Austin 'Two Feathers' as 'Buddy'; David Dyer as 'Coach Stolz'; Robert Bradley as 'Tom Stone'; John DeMarco as 'Bob Ayiello'; and former Army sergeant and wounded warrior Bobby Henline as 'Gunnery Sgt. Harold Reeves.

The cast of 'MBF' also includes several furry friends, who at times, and on cue, unknowingly seek to 'steal the show.' Canines like 'Big Pappy,' 'Hank' and 'Bette the beagle.'

'MBF' director of photography Patrick Dowdle; production designer Jen Raine; script supervisor/editor Scott Bakkila; first AD Nathan K. Robertson and sound designer/composer is Dennis Therrian lead a highly talented crew of Michigan artists.

Enthused award-winning director/producer/actor Anthony Hornus, who helmed 'MBF', "Post- production, like pre-production, is a painstaking process. It includes several artists working in harmony over many, many months in the studio to create the best possible final product from the shoot."

He added, "We know our audiences, cast and crew are excited to see a preview of the work and we're so pleased that it just happens we can offer it on Thanksgiving Day."

'MBF' (Man's Best Friend) is looking at a summer release by Bridgestone Multimedia Group (BMG).
