Borderline Personality Disorder Treatment and Managment
BPD affects many people and also has a large amount of stigma in mental health settings. Many are unaware that there are effective treatment opinions available as discussed in this article.

Regional areas such as Albury Wodonga in NSW often struggle due to a lack of access to services. BPD presents itself in early adolescence and adulthood with a range of symptoms and issues that it presents. Many don't realize that BPD is usually attributed to traumatic experiences in childhood and adolescence that disrupt otherwise health development. The body and mind then rewires itself to be able to respond and withstand these negative experiences in order to survive. Unfortunately as we grow older these 'neuron wired' ways of survival often persist as that is all we have known. Many people with Borderline Personality Disorder will also experience bodily pain symptoms and ill health due to the impact of this trauma.
Around 30% of people who present to mental health at some point in Albury Wodonga will meet 'some' criteria for BPD, though most not all. Due to these survival strategies we adapted as children and teens these behaviors will present as suicidal idealization due to persisting trauma, emotional instability, drug and alcohol problems as a way to 'calm down' and 'block out' the pain amoungst others. Work, study and private life is also often affected especially with difficulties in relationships due to a lack of trust and mistrust in others.
Therefore if you or someone you know are suffering from BPD or complex trauma or PTSD seeking help can assist towards recovery. A number of therapies (of which I have trained in) can help with trauma and BPD including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodynamic and Trauma Processing Therapy and Somatic Therapies. Often the best approach is a blended mix to suite the individuals needs and symptoms provide the best results.
Due to regional NSW such as the Riverina and Wangaratta being at high risk of being socially isolated many people often feel lost and helpless. There is however options out there, even seeing a therapist just to work on improving emotional regulation, without going into traumatic material can be helpful. I would encourage anyone suffering to get in contact with Albury Wodonga Counselling and Hypnotherapy to seek assistance for trauma, Borderline Personality Disorder and more.
