Mastercard named 'GBA Women's Market Champion'

AMMAN, Jordan - Nov. 19, 2018 - PRLog -- Amman, Jordan – (November 2018): In recognition of its commitment to women's economic empowerment, Mastercard, a leading technology company in the global payments industry, has been honored with the GBA Women's Market Champion New Program Award in Jordan. The company received the accolade for successfully launching the 'Mastercard Women by Design' suite of payment solutions.

The company's Vice Chairman, Ann Cairns, accepted the award on behalf of Mastercard at a Gala Dinner as part of the GBA Summit. During the event, Ann also participated in a fireside chat with GBA's CEO, Inez Murray, to explore barriers impacting the contribution of women and opportunities to accelerate sustainable economic growth through women's inclusion.

Designed to serve and financially empower the women of today, 'Mastercard Women by Design' is a set of assets that was developed keeping in mind women's needs and pain points, with insights gained from discussions with 20,000 banked women across 18 countries. The program enables Mastercard to work with issuers to co-create solutions targeted to specific segments including entrepreneurs, gig workers, and consumers of all socioeconomic levels and help women drive economic growth for themselves, their families and their communities.
