SAVANNAH, Ga. - Nov. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Customers Scan Items they want on the Enmarket App and Pay via Their Phone, Saving Time

Enmarket convenience stores are making an enhancement to their mobile app that will allow customers to buy items through their phones and save a trip to the register.

Enmarket, one of the first convenience store chains in the U.S. to use the new mobile payment technology, has partnered with Skip, a mobile self-checkout service. The technology is designed to reduce the speed of checkout from an average of 60 seconds to an instant checkout action controlled by the customer.

It also is configured to provide easy access to promotional deals and in-store items at the pump or prior to arrival.

"Skip Frictionless Checkout helps customers bypass the checkout line and helps us enhance their experience by focusing more on merchandising and customer service," said Brett Giesick, president of Savannah-based Enmarket, which operates 123 stores in Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. "It allows us to give back the most priceless of resources to its customers- their time."

Enmarket sales associates are notified when Skip users arrive and can monitor their purchases. The new technology will allow employees to spend more time on guest satisfaction, food service and maintaining their stores.

"This technology helps us achieve our mission of providing a best-in-class convenience store experience by offering an instant checkout action controlled by our customers," continued Giesick. "Enmarket will continue to explore innovative ways to make it easier for customers to patronize our stores."

Skip is a hybrid of mobile payments and AmazonGo's "just walk out" experiences. When customers finish shopping, they don't have to wait in a line. They can finalize payment in the app and be on their way.

"Getting our product into stores like Enmarket is a perfect fit" said Chase Thomason, Skip founder and CEO. "There are some fantastic similarities in our respective missions to the end customer, and we definitely share the appreciation of valuing the consumers' time in the fast-paced world that we live in."

Enmarket will implement Skip Frictionless Checkout in early 2019.
