"Wishes, Hopes and Dreams" Benefit Concert in Ontario

ONTARIO, Calif. - Nov. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- At 3 o'clock next Sunday, November 18^th, area singers will gather at the Bethel Congregational Church, Ontario, for "Wishes, Hopes and Dreams" to support both choral singers at Chaffey College and our wider music community.  There will be singers from Chaffey College, and from Cal Poly, and singers connected to the Southland Symphony Orchestra and Chorus & local groups like the Repertory Opera Company of Pomona, the Mountainside and Claremont Chorales, and the Pomona Valley Musicians Club.

Donations made at this event will support the newly initiated Southland Symphony Orchestra – Chaffey College Community Singer Awards, awards meant to encourage Chaffey singers to sing after college, and build community between college and community ensembles.  Donations are freewill – there is no admission price.

About the Southland Symphony Orchestra & Chorus:

The Southland Symphony presented its first concert in Ontario on Sunday, December 11, 2011. The orchestra's founder and director, Dr. Sylvia Lee Mann, who had recently relocated to the area, saw a need and an opportunity to bring symphonic music to the larger Ontario Community, a community which was already embracing arts and culture. Since that first concert, we have presented more than 40 free, full-orchestra concerts for this community. Our Symphony Chorus joined the SSO family in 2016, and earned rapid a nationwide reputation of excellence. The SSO has presented internationally renowned soloists from all over the globe, performing music of the greatest composers of history, and music of great composers still living today.The Southland Symphony is a non-profit organization, and needs your support to continue presenting these world-class quality concerts!
