FORT WORTH, Texas - Nov. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- Which lyrics in "Beer Bucket List" sum up David Adam Byrnes' life? "BEER!" He replied, laughing, then got serious. "Really it's the whole chorus. I've never been the kind to not chase a dream or opportunity.  I'd much rather look back thinking to myself 'At least I tried' rather than wonder what might have been."

Byrnes dreamed of going to Nashville since childhood, so he did at 19. "It just felt like I was going off to college or something." After 11 years in Nashville, Texas was a bigger leap.  "I had just kind of hit a road block [and] knew that I needed to make some kind of change."  There were still no certainties waiting in Texas.  "It wasn't starting over, but it was as close to it as I could get." Byrnes said.

Byrnes faced adversities such as overcoming a bad record/publishing deal, "and letting that be the end of [him]."  But, it wasn't a permanent "end".  Many people give up after facing the less than glamorous truths of the industry, but he continued.  "I rolled up my sleeves and said 'let's figure this out'."  The setback forced him to learn more about the music business, and how to grow independently.  "It was the biggest blessing in disguise because had everything not happened the way it did, I wouldn't be in Texas doing country music my way."  Byrnes was told that Traditional Country would never work, and urged to "get with the times... be more hip." But, David Adam Byrnes is far from a trend chaser.  "I would rather go down carrying the torch for traditional country music than be another guy that caved in for success." He said. Byrnes stays positive about the experience. "At the end of the day, I got to spend 11 years in Nashville learning the business, learning how to tour, and writing with the best writers on the planet. Now I can apply all of this in Texas Country Music where my style is appreciated and I know I can be successful."

David Adam Byrnes is currently on a radio tour. The radio programmers light up when they hear his story and songs.  "It just makes me feel like I'm doing something right and that I was right to stick to my guns all these years."

Byrnes has been a part of CMA Fest since 2007.  "[It] makes you realize just how dedicated and loyal our genre's fans are."  He said.  After being a part of the festival for over a decade, he has to remind himself how big of a deal it is.  His Gruene Hall debut, however, "I'm still on cloud 9", he said.  "Nashville has the Grand Ole Opry and Texas has Gruene Hall.  I could just feel the spirit in the building as soon as I walked in. The feeling when I saw the water tower driving up... I have no words."  Not surprisingly, George Strait is David Adam Byrnes' hero.  "To be able to recreate the iconic picture of his in there, stand on a stage that I know he's stepped foot on, and to just even be listed as one of the names that has played such an iconic venue.... I'm blessed. I don't even know a better way to say it. I am truly one of the luckiest people on this earth."

David Adam Byrnes is right up there with the greats he's played alongside such as Cody Johnson, Curtis Grimes, Joe Diffie, and Stoney Larue to name a few, but he's a humble guy.  To him, playing with large acts is a chance to be heard by new people.  "It's an awesome feeling."  It's also given Byrnes the chance to build relationships with those artists that he's been a fan of for years. "When you're able to start calling them friends and find yourself texting each other... it's pretty surreal." He still remembers getting nervous seeing a call or text from Darryle Singletary. "I guess at the end of the day, we all do this because we started off as a fan.  Shows like that make us become fans again and we need that reminder sometimes."

Byrnes found out he was playing the Texas Country Music Cruise...3 days before it left!  "I didn't even know where it was going when I got on." The cruise gave him a chance to get closer to other acts in his genre like Zane Williams and William Clark Green.  He also got to hang out with old friends such as Curtis Grimes and Jake Worthington, but didn't play until the next to last night. "All week, no one really said anything to me or noticed me because they didn't know me yet."  After his performance, David Adam Byrnes was stopped for pictures and autographs, "It just lets me know I'm home with the Texas fans and that I must be doing something right."

David Adam Byrnes' single quickly reached Top 50 on Texas charts.  "I can't wait to get to every station and thank the [Program Directors] and get to the stages across the state and personally meet all the fans.  I just love country music and I love to play it for people who do too."

In 2019, Byrnes will release a new record.  "I just want to let anyone who loves traditional country music hear it and hopefully give them something they will like."
