New Generation Takes Seat on CARC Board

CARLSBAD, N.M. - Nov. 13, 2018 - PRLog -- CARC, INC. is honored to announce the election of Lee Emerson to the board of directors at the recent annual meeting.

Lee is the grand-daughter of founders, Bob and Barbara Forrest, and has always been a supporter of CARC and the varied programs and services offered to individuals with developmental disabilities. Lee began her interest in CARC as a child when she accompanied her grandmother, Barbara, on her many visits and volunteering in the CARC Bargain Store.

"It has always been my dream to be a part of CARC and more recently to be an active member of the board. I love the mission and the work we do with these individuals." Said Emerson

CARC, INC. is a nonprofit organization that was started by Bob and Barbara Forrest in 1973, initially to work with handicapped children but then expanded over the years to now include eleven group homes serving over 75 adults. Their son, Gary who was born with Down's Syndrome, was the impetus to build this dream into a reality to serve individuals with special needs from all across the country.

"We are so excited to have our grand-daughter Lee join the CARC board and continue the legacy of family involvement in the direction and operations of this wonderful organization. It thrills us to no end to see her realize her dream to be involved with CARC." said Bob and Barbara.

CARC, INC. serves individuals with developmental disabilities through group home living, vocational work sites, supported employment and day habilitation programs. In addition, CARC offers early childhood intervention services to over 300 children age birth-three in Eddy County, New Mexico.
