IMP's De Mayo V2 E™ Knee Positioner
- Nov. 7, 2018
-- Innovative Medical Products' De Mayo V2E™ Knee Positioner
has been nominated by Surgical Products
magazine for the publication's 2018 'Excellence in Surgical Products Award' (ESP). The nomination recognizes IMP's sterile knee positioner for its "several innovative benefits for surgeon and patient."
TheDe Mayo V2E™ Knee Positioner
provides surgeons the option to perform a total knee replacement in a traditional approach, with the patient's leg on top of the OR table, or with the patient's operative leg extended off the table, using IMP's patent-pending sterile extension arm. In the latter approach, the surgeon can stand between the patient's legs and look straight down onto the surgical site. Surgeons no longer have to lean over the OR table when performing procedures, reducing stress on the surgeon's back. IMP is the first company in the marketplace to make and sell a sterile extension.
Besides these innovative benefits for the surgeon, the De Mayo V2E™ Knee Positioner
has improved patient stability in keeping a patient's knee or leg from tilting out during surgery, regardless of patient height or weight. Patients stay solidly in place during the entire surgical procedure, while still allowing the surgeon to adjust the rotation, flexion and extension of the knee.
ESP Awards are determined by its readers who, according to Surgical Products,
"are the actual users of innovative technology that tell us which companies and products are deserving of the Award -- those products that contributed most to surgical performance, efficiency and safety."Surgical Products
is read by surgeons, anesthesiologists and department heads in charge of operating/emergency rooms, ICU/CCUs, infection control, OR materials management and other areas. The 2018 'Excellence in Surgical Products Awards' will be presented in the November/December issue of the magazine.About Innovative Medical Products
