Author Kathleen M Jacobs Releases New Lyrical Poem Book
Kathleen M. Jacobs, author of Marble Town and Honeysuckle Holiday, holds a Master of Arts degree in Humanistic Studies and has taught English and Creative Writing. She divides her time between the Appalachian region and New York City. Her first children's book, Please Close It!, took home Honorable Mention in Book Festivals in San Francisco, Paris, and New York.
Jacobs's release, The Puppeteer of Objects: A Lyrical Poem, proposes the question, "What might objects see in us as they set their gaze?" Through the exploration of twelve seemingly inanimate objects, the reader is invited to peel back their intricate layers to reveal the voice behind these mute, yet ever-faithful friends. In the process, pretensions are dropped, and reality finds its way into even the most remote places.
Early reviews label the book as a beautiful work of creative writing. Founders of the New River Gorge Winter Writer's Residency said, "Jacobs has transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary with the click of her keystrokes! Her poetic description of common objects is refined."
When Jacobs was asked what she wants readers to gain from her book, she commented, "To look beyond the surface, to peel back the intricate layers of their lives and look, really look, at who they are, at what defines them, and at what they hope to recreate and discover along the journey."
