Jude was selected by the State of New York to create a memorial sculpture involving photo images of the fallen firefighters of September 11, 2001. The work was unveiled in 2002 to great acclaim and is a permanent exhibit of the New York City Fire Museum.
In 2003 Jude Amsel was presented the Artist of Distinction award. This award is bestowed to the individual artist whose work in the field of the arts has been outstanding and deserving of recognition. Past recipients have included Francis Ford Coppola, James Rosenquist, Al Gray, and Larry Rivers.
Deborah A. Sable: is an attorney, an artist and an activist. She uses all three, sometimes simultaneously, to try to make the world a better place.
"There are many, many things about which I am passionate. Some of these passions are transient but my deep, abiding love of the arts and of activism has been a constant throughout my life and from a very early age I participated in both.
To me, art and activism are the same thing. Neither exists without the other. To be successful, each must convey a message to an audience.
In the last several years I have used photography to capture that which makes me feel and think and sometimes, just smile. I hope that these images capture your imagination and make it soar."
