By: Miami Jewish Health The gallery at MJBasel 2018 will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A cocktail reception for artists and guests with live music is set for 3-5 p.m. in the May Visitors Center at Miami Jewish Health, 5200 NE Second Ave., Miami, Fla. 33137. The MJBasel 2018 exhibit will feature a mix of painting, sculpture and photography for viewing and purchase. Twenty percent of all art sold will be donated to Miami Jewish Health's therapeutic art programs. Admission is free and open to the public. "Curating the works of famous artists alongside our own talented Miami Jewish Health artists results in a vibrant exposition of creativity that reminds us that art connects communities and has no limits," said MJBasel organizer Dana Kulvin, vice president of Legal and Compliance at Miami Jewish Health. Miami artists Rey Jaffet, Enrique "Sero" Cruz and Douglas "HOXXOH" Hoekzema, who painted the colorful murals that adorn the exterior building and perimeter walls of Miami Jewish Health, will participate. Also showing their works are acclaimed international artists Edouard Duval-Carrie, Michael Vazquez, Oliver Sanchez, Luis Valles, Tina Paul and Ken Treister. Students from Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH) who recently painted an interior mural of a clinic at Miami Jewish Health will be featured. Miami Jewish Health is located just north of the Design District in Buena Vista, home to many artist studios, galleries and wall murals. As one of the largest providers of healthcare for seniors in the Southeast, it is a dynamic senior living and healthcare community. MJBasel 2018 provides a unique opportunity for Miami Jewish Health's own artists to be part of the excitement that precedes internationally acclaimed Art Basel Miami Beach that runs Dec. 6-9 at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
