ATLANTA - Oct. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- The Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church (https://ebenezeratl.org/)in Atlanta is hosting an Election Eve "Get Out The Vote Prayer Rally" on Monday, November 5that 7pm. The non-partisan rally is to encourage Georgians to head to the election polls on Tuesday, November 6th.

"This is a fight for the character of our state and the soul of the nation," says Rev. Raphael Warnock, Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

President Trump and former President Barack Obama are headed to Atlanta this weekend to campaign in the race for governor. The latest poll numbers show Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp neck and neck for the governor's seat. Voters are turning out in record numbers in this historic race that could name the nation's first African-American female governor.

"Against those who engage in the tricks of voter suppression we must be sure to cast every vote and lift every voice until seniors have security, workers have a living wage and together we have built a future big enough to embrace all of our children," says Warnock.

According to a recent AJC article (https://www.wsbtv.com/news/local/early-voting-on-sunday-s...), early voting in Georgia has risen dramatically over the years. In 2016, roughly 58 percent of all voters cast their ballots in advance of Election Day, compared to 37 percent in 2014.
