Applebee's in Wake Forest Hosts Fundraising Event

WAKE FOREST, N.C. - Oct. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- The local Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar at 11805 Retail Dr. served up delicious burgers for a good cause Wednesday, October 24^th, with all proceeds benefitting the Wakefield High School Lacrosse Team. The restaurant's 'We Care Wednesday' event hosted guests that purchased tickets to enjoy a great meal while supporting the school's organization. This fundraiser contributed over $550 to help team members afford required equipment.

"It felt great to be able to once again host fundraising events in the Wake Forest community. I would like to thank Wakefield Lacrosse for doing such a great job promoting this event. It was a great success." Said Alex Greenberg, General Manager of the Wake Forest Applebee's.

"Thank you to Applebee's for creating the We Care Wednesday event." Said a representative for the team. They continued, stating "I feel it was a great way to bring a community together to enjoy great food and inspiring conversation. It is so refreshing to see a company give back in such a big way to the community. What was really amazing was to have guests who were not part of our initial event, donate money to our fundraiser. Just seeing the students and the families there inspired them to make a donation. I don't see that very often." Applebee's is proud to partner with local nonprofit organizations as a way to raise money for their cause. 'We Care Wednesday' events can be held on Wednesday evenings from 4:00pm – 8:00pm. The nonprofit organization manages ticket sales and redemption while the Applebee's team handles the rest! Tickets sell for $10 and feature the selection of a hamburger, cheeseburger, or bacon cheeseburger with fries and a fountain drink or iced tea. Applebee's provides the organization with great food and service, while only charging food costs for tickets redeemed.
