Follow on Google News | Kubtec Announces Partnership with University of Bridgeport STEM Bus ProjectThis mobile laboratory (the first STEM bus in CT) combines the expertise and innovation of UB engineering and education faculty and students with the capable talents of Discovery Museum educators.
Eventually the plan is to have the mobile laboratory provide hands-on lessons in science, technology, engineering, and math to students throughout Fairfield County. The bus combines the efforts of not just UB but the Discovery Museum, Greater Bridgeport Transit, NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium, Kubtec Scientific and the Connecticut Health & Education Facilities Authority. Kubtec is supporting this initiative by providing our Xpert-20 X-ray Imaging System along with providing instruction and on-going STEM educational support in the radiology field. Students will gain an understanding of how X-ray technology works to enhance health care, environment, crops and many facets of day to day life. "The STEM bus partners have a common goal to assist elementary through high school students achieve STEM literacy that will assist them thrive in the 21st century," Ruba Deeb, director of biomedical research at UB said. From November 2018 to April 2019, STEM on Wheels will make weekly stops to Bridgeport public schools. "Kubtec is proud to support University of Bridgeport in this important project of bringing STEM and hands-on science and technology to the students directly." Says Vikram Butani, CEO of Kubtec.
