FiberGuide Announces Corporate Fiber Optic Training–Certified Optical Network Associate (CONA)

Telecommunication companies, optical infrastructure companies and IT companies will benefit from CONA, the only vendor neutral training course covering most aspects of optical networking
JOHANNESBURG - Oct. 31, 2018 - PRLog -- FiberGuide, a fiber optic training and Wide Area Networking (WAN) consulting company announces CONA training services for corporations at their premises.

In this training model, telecommunication and IT companies or other interested entities can request training for their employees at their locations. Unlike in conventional open enrollment classes in which individual candidates from different companies sign up for classes, training is for employees from a single company. In this model, participants are more likely to freely discuss sensitive issues about their networks in the absence of engineers from competing companies.

Training requests can be made by completing the CONA Training request form.

FiberGuide still offers a limited number of open enrollment classes in Africa. The next open enrollment class is scheduled for February 11 at the Sandton campus of the University of Cape Town in Johannesburg, South Africa. Interested parties should contact FiberGuide for more details.

Developed by Optical Technology Training (OTT), CONA (Certified Optical Network Associate) is an intense 5-day training programme for planners, designers, network operators and others involved with optical networks. Networks of interest include long haul, metro networks, data centre interconnects and fiber to the antennae. Topics covered include, but are limited to, fundamentals of fiber optics, dispersion and dispersion compensation, loss and optical amplifiers, transceivers, transmission systems and passive components. The complete CONA programme guide is available for download by visiting the CONA training page and clicking the download link at the bottom of the page.

Delegates have to pass an examination to be awarded OTT certification. Delegates also have to complete a design project based on Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) technology. All delegates who complete the course are awarded Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Continuing Education Credits (CEC) certificates.
