Sayoc, originally from New York, resided in Florida. Shortly after moving, he began committing varied crimes, most of which occurred beginning in 1999. He is a registered Republican and the media have taken to calling him the MAGA Bomber, after several anti-democrat images were seen decorating his van. His targets also included several high profile democratic politicians and liberal members of the media.
