FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - Oct. 25, 2018 - PRLog -- Voyager Maritime Alliance Group (VMAG) has just completed another incredible customized electronics project.  This time it was a 34ft Yellowfin, M/V Rhode Trip that required construction of a customized dashboard, to enable the owner to take control of his navigation system, twin 350HP Yamaha engine data, SIMRAD autopilot, 1KW transducer and Fusion audio system, in one single integrated system.

David Leone, President of VMAG commented, "From initial concept to final installation, attention to detail is what VMAG is all about.   When the owner requested a navigation upgrade, he had no idea initially how dramatically it would change the way he would cruise, but with our intricate drawings and project management, his vision and our expertise were soon in sync.  The entire project took just over 3 weeks"

We installed twin Garmin 16" touchscreen displays, Garmin 800 AIS Blackbox system and GMR Fantom 4 radar with bird detection capability, supported by a custom dashboard construction.  One incredible feature was the custom radar mount that made the pedestal perfectly level to provide the maximum sensitivity for target returns, and this mount also brought the radar forward to provide the real estate needed for the larger array.   One key element was that it remained below the height of all bridges near this vessel's homeport.

During the installation, the Voyager team improved the electronic switching system and provided the Captain with a 1-touch power distribution panel that made the operation of all systems much easier; this also included bilge pumps, navigation lights, fish box, interior lights, and much more!  This 1-touch feature had a huge impact to the entire cruising experience, as now the Captain can view, detect, and control all the operations with an easy-to-use tool.

Like many projects, once the Captain sees our expertise and has confidence in our craftsmanship, the project is extended with additional tasks.  M/V Rhode Trip was one of those projects.  Having completed the initial phase to this project, the Captain then hired VMAG to upgrade the battery distribution system which included relocation of 5 batteries, re-wiring the heavy 4 gauge cables, building and installing all new battery switches with shore-power distribution breakers, with an illuminated panel meter.  We were also asked to replace all major electrical wiring to electric fishing reels, macerator pumps, saltwater wash down pumps, and Livewell pumps.

The final phase was to activate interior lights on the console and overhead electronics box.  The custom dashboard and overhead electronics box were constructed from high-gloss black Plexiglas materials and precisely cut to flush-mount the displays perfectly.

M/V Rhode Trip is now ready for cruising or fishing for the day or spur of the moment trips to the Bahamas; all that's needed is a good passport!
