Follow on Google News | ![]() Ski Blandford Announces 2018-2019 Season Kick Off PartyNew Management unveils Phase 1 improvements as part of an Open House party on November 3 that is free to attend for the public, and includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and Springfield Thunderbirds themed activities for kids.
By: Ski Blandford New snowmaking and grooming equipment will be on display for viewing and pictures, in addition to the renovated lodges. To complement the BBQ lunch, there will be a Springfield Thunderbirds themed party with music and games. Thunderbird's Mascot Boomer will be at the BBQ giving away free hockey tickets. He will also bring a bunch of fun activities for kids including an inflatable hockey shooter and cornhole. Many local dignitaries will be in attendance for a ribbon-cutting ceremony including State Representative Smitty, State Senator Hinds, Jean LeClair, Economic director of the Gateway Hilltowns, and Joshua A. Garcia, Town of Blandford Interim Town Administrator. Ron Crozier, General Manager, noted "We have been hard at work, and we genuinely appreciate the continued support of the Town of Blandford, our loyal pass holders, and everyone who has shown their support throughout our efforts to revitalize the ski area. We are ready to celebrate skiing and riding's return to Blandford!". BBQ Details: November 3, 11AM-3PM; Cost: Free to attend, Free BBQ for Pass Holders ($5 BBQ to the public) Location: Ski Blandford – 41 Nye Brook Road, Blandford, MA 01008 For the upcoming season, Ski Blandford will continue to offer night skiing and has added additional daytime skiing on Mondays and Wednesdays. To complement the on-mountain improvements, Ski Blandford will be operating a new and improved rental and retail shop. Ron Crozier, General Manager of Ski Blandford said, "We see this as a new beginning for Blandford and we are energized by the huge opportunity to provide skiers and boarders with an affordable full-service ski area for all to enjoy." Ski Blandford plans to continue offering a great value to customers with $20-weekday tickets, $129 adult night season passes, and $199 adult season passes. Ski Blandford will operate day and night skiing during the following hours for the 2018-19 season: 9AM-9PM (Monday, Wednesday, Friday), 8:30AM-9PM (Saturday) and 8:30AM-4PM (Sunday), with special operating hours during holiday periods.
