The South Cobb Arts Alliance Presents 2 Holiday Arts and Crafts Shopping Events!
This popular annual event is open to the public and will kick-off with a Preview Party to be held on November 29th. Items selected to be featured for sale at Christmas House were reviewed by a committee to assure that they are both hand-crafted and of high quality. Christmas House Committee Chairperson is Lisa Filer.
In addition to Christmas House, the SCAA is also presenting a spin-off of this event called Holiday Market. The 3-day event will run from December 13-15 at Powder Springs First United Methodist Church, located at 4329 Marietta Street, and will be featuring many of the talented artisans who are participating in Christmas House. There will additionally be a Silent Auction at Holiday Market, for which part of the proceeds will benefit PSFUMC's upcoming 'Night To Shine' event, which the church will be presenting next year in cooperation with The Tim Tebow Foundation. Recently, the SCAA forged a new partnership with PSFUMC. Upon learning that the church had been selected to host "Night To Shine," the SCAA coordinated Holiday Market in an effort to support this exciting endeavor.
SCAA President San Miller states, "This year, the South Cobb Arts Alliance is bringing to our community two great 2018 holiday shopping events, presenting the best in handcrafted goods from local artisans. We invite the public to stop by and browse both events! We are also accepting donated items to be offered at Holiday Market during the Silent Auction. The proceeds will help support the SCAA's educational outreach programs and will additionally benefit PSFUMC's upcoming 'Night To Shine' event. All donations are greatly appreciated!"
Reverend Roger Vest, with Powder Springs First United Methodist Church, shared, "Powder Springs First United Methodist Church is excited to be hosting a Holiday Market for the people of our community. We encourage everyone to stop by and take a look at all of the wonderful handmade arts and crafts shared by some incredibly talented local individuals. We are located in the heart of downtown Powder Springs and look forward to seeing you December 13th - 15th."
Reverend Vest continued, "Powder Springs First UMC is honored to be hosting 'Night to Shine' on February 8th, 2019, in partnership with others from around our community. 'Night to Shine' will be a memorable night for some very special people in our community. On this evening, our neighbors with special needs age 14 and up are invited to attend a prom especially for them. Every single attendee will be crowned prom king or queen. Our goal is to make this a night that they will always remember without costing them a dime. The proceeds from this silent auction will allow us to 'go all out' and make this evening super special!"
