United Premier Soccer League Announces Southwest Expansion Club Tapatio FC Amarillo
Founded in 2003, Amarillo (Tex.)-Based Pro Development Club Joins the UPSL

Based in Amarillo (Tex.), Tapatio FC will begin UPSL play in the Southwest Conference East Division. The club will play its UPSL home games at Wayland Baptist University (1900 W. 7th St., Plainview, TX 79072) in compliance with UPSL Minimum Standards.
United Premier Soccer League National Director Paul Lapointe said, "Tapatio FC Amarillo is going to make for a great addition to the United Premier Soccer League. The club has been competitive in Amarillo for a long time and they want to push the limits for Pro Development in Amarillo, which is another growing soccer market. The UPSL continues to expand across the Great Plains of American Soccer and Tapatio FC is a big part of Connecting American Soccer. We wish Tapatio FC the best of luck."
Tapatio FC Amarillo is owned by Jose Flores, 50, a former Pro Development-
Flores also serves as Head Coach and his wife, Violeta Flores, is Director of Team Operations.
Jose Flores, Jr., 24, is the current goalkeeper for Tapatio FC Amarillo. Luis Flores, 22, is the club's General Manager.
Tapatio FC Amarillo General Manager Luis Flores said, "We wanted to take this step because the UPSL is a great opportunity for the young players of Amarillo to see what's possible. Tapatio FC has been around for a while – my dad has had this club since we were little so we've grown up around it – and now it's time to grow with this potential from the deep roots that we have planted here."
Tapatio FC Amarillo has competed in local men's leagues in Amarillo and North Texas for more than a decade, also participating numerous times at Alianza Cup tournaments in both Dallas (Tex.) and Denver (Colo.).
The club recently played Southwest FC (UPSL) in a preseason friendly, and soon will announce its upcoming game schedule.

Tapatio FC Amarillo is an American Soccer club currently based in Amarillo, Tex., and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Tapatio FC Amarillo plays in the UPSL Pro Premier.
Founded in 2003, Tapatio FC Amarillo can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
United Premier Soccer League
The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 200 teams in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 300-plus teams targeted for 2018 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.
UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
