CANNES, France - Oct. 17, 2018 - PRLog -- Showrunner/Creator Miranda Spigener-Sapon will be present to debut the teaser of her new sci-fi series, Marisa Romanov at MIPCOM, inspired by a 9-minute short film written and directed that went on to be part of the Official Selection of the International Venice Film Festival on September 2001, earning Audience Choice.  The film was also screened in an Alternate Selection screening during the 2001 Berlin Film Festival, earning accolades as the Audience Pick. In addition to the Marisa Romanov series on Amazon Prime, a book deal of the prequel of the series has been secured by Winterwolf Press and the feature film rights have been optioned by a studio.  Alongside Showrunner Miranda Spigener-Sapon are Executive Producers Pete Freeland, Nick DeLaRosa, Gela Andrew Suli, Producer Soraya Tascon and Jean-Michel Vaussier. Parts of the cast are still under wraps, but the series stars sci-fi cult favorite Elias Toufexis as the male lead. Elias is known for Deus Ex's Adam Jensen, Splinter Cell's Kobin and he portrayed Kenzo and The Hybrid in Amazon series The Expanse as well as dozens of top sci-fi series and one of the male leads in the new Assassins Creed: Odyssey just out this month.  Other cast include: Fred Koehler (American Horror Story, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Kingdom, CSI: Cyber, Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, The Circle, Domino, and in Deathrace feature film franchise.), Primetime Emmy Award Winner, Kim Estes (Fresh off the Boat, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Pretty Little Liars, Matador, The Fosters, State of Affairs), Kate Orsini (Nashville, Fox's 9-1-1, The Bold and The Beautiful, Bones, Jane the Virgin, 90210).

Miranda is an award-winning writer who recently directed the 20th Anniversary return to stage of her play The Flame at Metropolis Café in Santa Monica. In the past, the play received praise by Houston Press and The Village Voice in 1997 during its original run and the special anniversary run in Santa Monica received praise by Broadway World and The Los Angeles Times in 2017.  Miranda will also screen her documentary feature Masculinity That Inspires Change, written by Gunter Swoboda, based on his "Good Men Great Movement."    Miranda Spigener-Sapon, a Texas native, lives in Los Angeles with her husband Felipe.  Miranda and the project is repped by literary agent Will McPherson/UTA, publicist Jamie Goucher of MS Film PR Literary and attorney David Kim at The Hollywood Lawyer.
