KELOWNA, British Columbia - Oct. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- Mazu, a digital solution for the social media safety of children based on core values and family friendly content, is calling out for citizens across Canada and the US concerned with children's online safety to join this  International Campaign of Awareness called Love a Million.

Mazu is excited to announce the Love a Million campaign, an initiative designed to provide families everywhere, especially children, a safe digital space while connecting them to real-life programs and initiatives. The unique platform, (Information at  mazufamily.com), was created and established in Kelowna BC, Canada. The new campaign, which is the first project of the non-profit wing of Mazu, will raise awareness around three core pillars: education, safety, and collaboration. There are 6.7 million children currently in Canada exposed on the Internet daily. The goal of this campaign is to bring over a million children in the next 12 months out of harm's way.

The idea for the campaign came after Mazu content moderators received a  heartbreaking post from a 10-year-old girl. She posted a picture of herself and titled it  'When you realize you're ugly.' Mazu is ready to combat the urgent rising mental health and self-esteem issues in children by attacking the problem, not the symptom.

'Love a million was created in response to the many cries of help we heard from  children online...our response was to create this awareness campaign, to collaborate  with community services and to create a greater platform of love…' says founder and  CEO Janice Taylor

The current data linking social media use and youth mental health is alarming:
● 1 in 5 of our kids see pornography daily
● 1 in 2 of youth have received intimidating and threatening messages online
● There is a 50% increase in youth suicide rates over the last 2 years

The Love a Million Ambassadors and Mazu will begin this campaign by spreading awareness, educating and collaborating with local communities and stakeholders all over North America. Local ambassadors in each market will have the opportunity to be trained around social media safety, educating local and national organizations,  speaking development opportunities, meeting with school or service groups, and much more.
