CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Oct. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- South Coast Improvement Company (SCI), a design-build general contractor serving New England and the Mid-Atlantic states, recently won a $1.4M renovation project at Terrace at Mountain Creek, an independent, assisted living and memory care facility located 1005 Mountain Creek Road in Chattanooga, TN. The facility is owned and operated by Discovery Senior Living.

Discovery Management is the project manager for this effort, which will begin later this month. The facility is located at 1005 Mountain Creek Road in Chattanooga.

The project will feature interior renovations to common areas, including: Lobby/reception and secondary lobby; two main dining rooms; bistro; therapy room; town hall center; beauty salon; activity room; four public bathrooms; and the main corridor.

Construction will begin in early October with an estimated completion date at the end of May 2019. Work will be done in four distinct phases to keep common areas open and usable for residents during construction.

"This project presents several challenges, most specifically its occupied space. This means close coordination with Terrace at Mountain View staff and our own people to minimize disruption," said Tom Quinlan, president of South Coast Improvement Company. "The other part to that is time of year. A good portion of the work occurs over the Thanksgiving and end-of-year holidays. That means even more visitors to the facility than usual and that places even more emphasis on coordination with the facility and communication."

Added Quinlan, "This kind of process and coordination has been our calling card for many years at all sorts of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and memory care units. We're delighted to have the opportunity to share this expertise at SCI's first project in the state of Tennessee."

While South Coast Improvement Company is based in Marion, Mass., its Reading, Pennsylvania office will manage the Terrace at Mountain View project. Design Point Interiors of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania will be the project architect.
