FREDERICK, Md. - Oct. 15, 2018 - PRLog -- The first two weeks of November bring a wide variety of acts to the Weinberg stage with new performances almost every night!

Saturday, November 3rd - Portland Cello Project -  From classical pieces and movie themes, to jazz standards, pop music covers and hip-hop, Cello Project's repertoire contains a wide variety of musical selections presented in two, 50-minute sets. The huge ensemble includes a horde of cellos, some elements of winds and brass, a full rhythm section of drums and bass, and guest vocalists and solo instrumentalists. The second set of the evening is Radiohead's OK Computer from start to finish.

Wednesday, November 7th – An Evening with: Stephen Marley Acoustic - The second son of Bob and Rita Marley, Stephen Marley is an eight-time Grammy-winning musician, songwriter and producer who began his career as a six-year-old singing, dancing and playing percussion in The Melody Makers. His early work as a solo producer led to several Grammy nods followed by more for his own solo albums. He continues to showcase his talent for navigating between genres by effortlessly blending reggae with soul, hip hop and electronic beats.

Thursday, November 8th - The Chinese Warriors of Peking – have captivated audiences worldwide with their athleticism and artistry. Set during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the performers represent the Shaolin and Wudang warriors, two rival martial arts disciplines competing in the ancient Chinese capital of Peking. This action-packed show is filled with juggling, acrobatics, weapons handling and live stage combat.

Friday, November 9th - The Seldom Scene - Maryland's own pillars of the bluegrass world have returned to the music scene with a tour and new album, "Long Time . . . Seldom Scene." The Seldom Scene has been instrumental in starting the progressive bluegrass movement with shows that include bluegrass versions of country music, rock and even pop. Musical talent, a signature sound, a solid repertoire and a sheer sense of fun have been The Seldom Scene's recipe for success for more than four decades.

Saturday, November 10th - Paula Poundstone - With smart, observational humor and a legendary spontaneous interaction with the crowd, Paula Poundstone is one of the most influential comedians of our time. She improvises with a crowd like a jazz musician, swinging in unexpected directions without a plan, without a net. There's a disarming ease in her craft; an immediate sense that she's so quick on her feet you need never worry about the possibility of something going wrong.

Sunday, November 11th – The U.S. Air Force Concert Band, featuring the Singing Sergeants – In honor of America's veterans this is a free ticketed performance.  The U.S. Air Force Concert Band and Singing Sergeants are two of the six performing ensembles within The United States Air Force Band, the premier musical organization of the U.S. Air Force.  Led by Colonel Larry H. Lang and stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., this premier musical unit inspires patriotism and military service in fellow citizens, honors those who serve, and represents the U.S. Air Force and United States of America to millions worldwide.

Tickets for all of these events are available online at WeinbergCenter.org, by calling the Box Office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 West Patrick Street.  Discounts are available for students, children, military, and seniors.
