SAN FRANCISCO - Oct. 15, 2018 - PRLog -- The Virtual Reality Strategy Conference 2018, being held this week at the Park Central Hotel in San Francisco (, will give business leaders the opportunity to learn about the latest technology and applications of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Media & Entertainment and the Enterprise. With sponsors including Greenlight Insights, Microsoft, Technicolor, Miraisens, Kaon Interactive, and others, the focus is sharply on how businesses show an ROI on applications of these technologies. But this meeting is not all talk. More than 20 curatored demonstrations, including 12 innovative vendors in the XRSWeek Solutions Showcase, will enable the attendees to experience these technologies in real-life applications.

Conference attendees will also experience a special program of an Evening of Immersive Art, presented by Onedome, on Wednesday night. Called The Unreal Garden, it is a unique interactive digital art experience integrating four layers of reality – the physical, spatial sound, 2D/3D projection mapping and augmented reality. This event offers a preview of one of the first-ever consumer, multiuser mixed-reality experiences, which officially opens to the public this week during XRSWeek 2018.

Clifton Dawson, CEO and Founder of Greenlight Insights, explained why these demonstrations are so important. "Virtual and Augmented Reality are visceral experiences. Reading about them, even seeing video of them, doesn't convey the full impact these technologies have on people," he explained. "What's more, many business leaders think these technologies are just for games. Yes, entertainment is a major sector. But VRS gives executives a chance to see and experience applications that can change how they do business, how they train their people, and how they improve their bottom line. And really, in those cases, experiencing is believing."

Applications that will be demonstrated at VRS 2018 include haptic displays, the technology that allows users to feel virtual objects, analytics that measure the impact of virtual experiences, and virtual advertising campaigns. Other applications make delicate surgery less risky, enable scientists and engineers to experience large data sets, and systems that simulate the flight of yet unbuilt aircraft. In addition, several application developers will be on hand providing examples of VR and AR systems that make training, data visualization and marketing more effective.
