Community invited to Oct. 27 Harvest Festival activities at Applewood Our House

ARVADA, Colo. - Oct. 12, 2018 - PRLog -- Families who are looking for a secure group home for a loved one that "feels like home again" as well as community care partners are invited to the Oct. 27 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. / food served from 12-2 p.m.) Harvest Festival at Applewood Our House's fifth memory care home in North Arvada. Visitors can get a preview of the new home located at 6595 Garrison St. scheduled to open in November.

The celebration will include horn-driven rock and blues music from Six Foot Joe and the Red Hot Rhinos, delicious food, fun games, and special activities with the residents and the Applewood Team. Foothills Animal Shelter, a partner with Applewood Our House's foster kittens program, will be at the event with kittens, and a certified educator from Aging Adults Montessori Education will bring some learnings and information.

"We are excited to offer the community this fun event and sneak peek of our brand new home," says Alan Wyngarden, Applewood Our House Owner. "Visitors can also learn about all of the activities our caring team members do with residents."

With 16 private rooms (ten have already been reserved by new residents), Applewood Our House V was designed with residents in mind. It has spectacular views of the mountain range, from Pikes Peak to Longs Peak, and is surrounded by more than ½-acre yard with a walking path to enjoy the outdoors. Many other outdoor activities are located in the yard for the residents to enjoy.

The interior of the new home has an open floor plan with a great room for enjoyment and relaxation. The kitchen is at the heart of the house and features natural cherry cabinets, solid surface counter-tops, and graphite appliances.
