History of SEO

1998-2002

2003-2004

In this period, Google introduced the Florida algorithm. This was introduced to stop the keyword stuffing websites from ranking. Then, Google introduced the concept of Adsense which is like a revolution. In this there is no limit in earning from at their home place. Number of websites were created but with the low quality content.

Google Analytics-2005

After analyzing the need and scope of SEO, Google introduced the concept of no-follow links and analytics. It comes out as a boon for the websites as they can track their performance of their website.

2011

Google act as a watchdog for the websites prevailing on the result page. People were just busy in writing worst content and rank their website on the basis of keyword stuffing. To stop bad quality content ranking on the top, Google introduced the Panda Algorithm. It helps them to detect the websites with low quality content and stop prevailing on the top and taking unnecessary advantage of clicks. It filters all the result and ranking the best quality content consisting website.

2012

In this year, Google launched the new algorithm i.e. penguin algorithm after analyzing the misuse of link building advantage. People were indulged into link their websites with hundred of irrelevant websites and were interested in doing spamming. It helps them in ranking their website on the top. But after the arrival of Penguin algorithm, it was strict on those websites who have bundle of irrelevant links and panelize them.

2013

In this period, Google launched the hummingbird algorithm. The main aim of this algorithm is to improve the search technology. Its purpose is to understand the search query and give the multiple options of the searches. It tries to understand the intent of the user and give the result.

2016

With the advancement in the technology, the importance of mobile was in the main lead. So, to make the websites mobile friendly, Google introduces the concept of AMP. It assist in making the website mobile supportive by reducing the loading time of the web page.
