LOS ANGELES - Oct. 11, 2018 - PRLog -- In these times of unbalanced healthcare and Opioid addictions throughout the country, a compelling story will unfold on stage to bring awareness of these crises through one woman's pain and loss.

After a sold-out preview on the Comedy Central Stage, actor/comedian Deon Cole will present 'I AM WILLA' by Nefetari Spencer, for a limited run on Friday, October 12th – Saturday October 13th repeating the following week on Friday October 19th – Saturday October 20th at 8pm. This one-woman show will play at the Hudson Theatre located at 6539 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038.

'I AM WILLA' is a true story about loss, addiction, mental health, the U.S. healthcare system and life lessons Nefetari learned from her mother, Willa, who she buried on Mother's Day in Chicago 2015.

"As an only child, I birthed this heart-wrenching story out of my own pain, loneliness and sketchy circumstances surrounding my Mother's death in Chicago recently," says Writer/Actress Nefetari Spencer.

Ali LeRoi creator of 'Everybody Hates Chris' says,
"I was moved in ways I couldn't have imagined. Her story of her loss and the subsequent events surrounding her mother's passing are rendered in a way that's touching, sweet, funny, and downright harrowing."
