BERLIN - Oct. 9, 2018 - PRLog -- eHealth Africa (eHA) Co-Founder and Executive Director Evelyn Castle will be in Berlin this month to speak at The World Health Summit (WHS) on October 15 and at the German-African Healthcare Symposium on October 17, sharing eHA's insight and expertise in improving public health outcomes.

The 10th WHS, a three day global interdisciplinary event on public health, will be held in Berlin starting on October 14, 2018. Each year, discussions are focused on specific global health challenges. This year, more than 250 speakers—including Angela Merkel and Bill Gates—will discuss pandemic preparedness, the sustainable development goals, strengthening health systems, antimicrobial resistance, the digital healthcare revolution, and access to essential medicines.

Evelyn Castle will participate in the WHS workshop, "The Digital Integration of Surveillance and Outbreak Response Management". She will highlight the lessons learned from two projects implemented by eHA during the Ebola outbreak in West Africa: Sense Followup and eIDSR (https://www.ehealthafrica.org/eidsr/). Sense Followup is a mobile application developed to trace and monitor individuals that potentially came into contact with Ebola patients and eIDSR is a digital tool that captures data submissions on epidemiologically important diseases and shares them with healthcare officials at the national level.

The 5th German-African Healthcare Symposium will take place in Berlin on October 17. The event is the result of cooperation between The German Healthcare Partnership and the Afrika-Verein der deutschen Wirtschaft. Evelyn Castle will take part in the session "eHealth Business in Africa: A Reality Check from the Field", discussing the lessons eHA learned over the last 10 years, in particular, how to deliver with impact and overcome challenges faced when implementing eHealth solutions in Africa.

More information on eHA's participation in these events can be found on their various social media platforms. More information on eHealth Africa can be found at www.ehealthafrica.org.
