"2 Pianos & Voices of Beethoven 9 Past & Present"

Classical 2 piano & quartet of voices in concert presenting the great Beethoven's 9th Symphony plus both traditional and contemporary works inspired by this iconic composer and classical work including Brahms and a world premiere by Robert Chumbley, featuring world renowned Piano Duo Chipak and Kushnir.

MIAMI, FL, October 5, 2018 - Dranoff 2 Piano & the FIU Music Festival presented by the School of Music will present "2 Pianos & Voices of Beethoven 9 Past & Present" on Sunday, October 28th at 3PM at FIU's Wertheim Performing Arts Center, 10910 SW 17th Street in Miami.

The concert will center around one of the world's greatest classical symphonies, Beethoven's 9th, arranged for two pianos by Franz Liszt.

This exciting and very unique program will bring together acclaimed Ukrainian pianists Olha Chipak & Oleksiy Kushnir, with Amanda Crider, Susan Hellman, Jonathan Beyer and Tyler Nelson: top American chamber and opera vocalists to sing Beethoven's Ode to Joy and works of Johannes Brahms inspired by Beethoven himself.

"Chipak & Kushnir's are past winners of the Dranoff International 2 Piano Competition. Their award-winning powers are immediately evident in their performances. The Duo brings both a steely power and a sensitive coloration to the great classical work." - South Florida Classical Review

"2 Pianos & Voices of Beethoven 9 Past & Present" will bring to Miami a world premiere of Robert Chumbley's "Cries & Whispers" inspired by Beethoven's late life dissent into deafness.  Mr. Chumbley has been commissioned throughout Europe and the United States. He has performed at Lincoln Center, the Buffalo Philharmonic, and will premiere a new work with Ian Hobson at Carnegie Hall in March 2019
