By: Nancy Jo Baratti Unit of Mary Kay The Nancy Jo Baratti Unit, led by longtime Brookfield resident Nancy Jo Baratti, will donate a care package to the Milwaukee Women's Center for each $30 sponsorship received. The Milwaukee Women's Center provides services and treatment for women, men and children whose lives have been affected by domestic violence, addiction, mental health issues, homelessness and poverty. The packages contain personal care items, an ongoing need for the residents living at the center's emergency shelter. Package sponsors will receive a $30 Mary Kay credit that can be used in the next 12 months. Sponsors do not have to be Mary Kay customers. "Mary Kay Corporate provides nationwide support of women's shelters through the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. We donate to the foundation, yet also want to help abused women who live locally," said Baratti, a Mary Kay representative for 39 years. "We believe that 'There, but for the grace of God, go I.' We want them to know their neighbors are thinking of them, and want to help." The Milwaukee Women's Center served nearly 2,000 people in 2017.
