On Friday, October 12, 2018 Dr. Guido will share the story of a journey having to do with his personal and professional experience in managing his own Bipolar Disorder and that of his patients. He will speak of his long-held belief in the importance of establishing a richly personal therapeutic alliance with patients and the positive outcomes to which that has often led. He will discuss brain research on genetic DNA defects related to Bipolar conditions. ABOUT THE PRESENTER Stephen M. Guido, PhD, is a clinical psychologist who received his doctorate from St. John's University. Dr. Guido has been in practice for more than fifty years. He is located in Commack, NY, and he invites you to visit his website: www.drstephenmguido.com. Dr. Guido is a cognitive behavioral therapist. He works with patients ranging from young children through senior citizens. Dr. Guido is an expert in the treatment of ADD, OCD, Phobias, Panic Disorder, Mood Disorders and, specifically, Bipolar Disorder. He is certified to work with interpersonal issues i.e., family, marital and premarital couple therapy. Mood and Anxiety Disorders in reaction to various traumas require Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. He received his training in that area while a member of the NYS Psychological Association.
