Frogtown Storytelling Guild presents Tellabration! 2018

TOLEDO, Ohio - Oct. 1, 2018 - PRLog -- The talents of the Frogtown Storytelling Guild will be featured in Tellabration! 2018, a spoken-word concert of "stories for grown-ups." The concert will take place on November 9, 2018 at the Maumee Indoor Theater (601 Conant St, Maumee, OH 43537) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tickets are $10.00 each and available at the door.

The Frogtown Storytelling Guild is a group whose focus is to keep the art of storytelling alive in all of its facets. Each member specializes in one or more genres of stories. The stories told by Frogtown Storytelling Guild members span the oral tradition such as folktales, wisdom tales, legends, romantic sagas, humorous stories, and personal narratives that explore the richness of the human condition.

"The Frogtown Storytelling Guild looks forward entertaining the audience with our tales in Tellabration!," Glenda Garrison, producer of Tellabration! states. "The fact that each member has a different type of story they like to tell gives an interesting variety  to our concerts. The stories in this year's Tellabration! will be intriguing, funny, thought-provoking, and some have unexpected twists." Frogtown Storytelling Guild members are Marion Hallauer, Glenda Garrison, Tari Miller, Regina Patrick, Odessa Rowan, Ken Solo, Sandy Schwieterman, and Ken Wielfaert.

The Frogtown Storytelling Guild is a member of the National Storytelling Network (Kansas City, MO), the vision of which is to have all people value the power of storytelling and its ability to connect, inspire, and instill respect. As a member of the National Storytelling Network, each year in November, the Frogtown Storytelling Guild hosts a Tellabration! storytelling concert.

Professional storyteller Jackson Gershom Pinkerton (1926–2008) of Stamford, CT was the originator of Tellabration!. He envisioned the event as a way of fostering and maintaining the art of storytelling. In 1988, he organized the first Tellabration! concerts at six locations in the state of Connecticut. It was such a success that the Tellabration! concerts spread to other states in following year. In 1990, Tellabration! became a national event with the help of the National Storytelling Association. Its popularity continues to spread and now thousands of storytelling groups (including Frogtown Storytelling Guild) host Tellabration! concerts worldwide.
