NEW YORK - Sept. 28, 2018 - PRLog -- On September 13,2013, a brain tumor interrupted Ms. Fairman's life.  As the owner of her own production company, she needed to shift direction and focus her energy into the recovery of the removal of her brain tumor and surgery. Today, Kesha LeNoir Fairman, is strong and ready to compete in the renowned New York City Marathon on November 4th, to promote awareness for The National
Brain Tumor Society.

Fairman, a mother, actor, entrepreneur, and former Miss Baton Rouge, knew something was terribly wrong when she suddenly and rapidly gained an alarming amount of weight despite living an active lifestyle. For several years, doctors couldn't explain why she was incapable of losing the weight despite
an excellent diet and fitness regimen. In 2013, they found a tumor growing on her pituitary gland, wreaking havoc with hormone levels. Her lengthy and stressful journey back to health is not over. Since then, she has been diagnosed with several other health complications including Insulin Resistance,
Cushings and Hypothyroidism.   Despite these ongoing obstacles, she is determined to be an advocate for a healthy and productive lifestyle.

Via her network, Why Weight TV, she has created a forum for individuals battling health issues.  One of her favorite slogans is, "it's more than just the numbers on the scale" and has created a four-pronged approach for total health:  body, mind, nourish, move. She has created a community - offering insights and advice to people combating the stress and hindrances of maintaining a healthy, well-balanced life.

"While I feel like an overcomer, the journey remains an ongoing challenge.  Others like me, will continue to face similar obstacles and I hope to show them that it can be done.  This marathon is about a message of encouragement and it is particularly personal, since I'm participating as a member of the National Brain Tumor Society's Gray Nation team."  Donations received will go to further their research, advocacy and awareness efforts.

The National Brain Tumor Society's Gray Nation team will have 5  marathon participants in November. Inaddition, local Atlanta businesses have joined TeamKesha's marathon campaign by assisting her fundraising efforts and providing discounted rates and giveaways to help others.

"Being a part of and teaming up with Kesha in her journey alongside NBTS is a great way to personify who we are as TeamFHIIT. We don't do anything alone and it takes a team to reach your goals. Kesha knows the power of a team though her own brain tumor battle and by bringing awareness to something that can hit anyone of us at anytime, this is truly being a team in something so much bigger than ourselves. Kesha and NBTS are the personification of strong teammates!" Dane Robinson, Regional Director Team FHITT
