Solera Learning Celebrates Its One Year Anniversary!

CALGARY, Alberta - Sept. 26, 2018 - PRLog -- It's already been a full year of operation for Solera Learning Services and owner Denaige McDonnell couldn't be more excited about the future plans of the company.  As a female small business owner who already has a full-time day job, McDonnell sees this company (her third!) as a great way to never stop learning or challenging herself.   Solera Learning is McDonnell's dream company and is just the first step in what will be a multi-faceted learning organization in years to come.  To understand the company, one must first understand its owner who has a unique and interesting history.

McDonnell's first company was a soap making enterprise called Bubble Hut Inc. which operated out of her basement and sold a ton (literally) of soap each year.  She grew that company to include a range of bath and beauty products that sold online and in stores across Canada and the USA.  Eager to keep her entrepreneurial spirit alive, she opened Sotera Safety consultancy which operated for 12 years and successfully managed the safety and development of over 100 businesses in Canada.  McDonnell recognized the theme that existed in both her companies, and that was a pure love of learning and teaching.  On where she finds the inspiration to challenge herself, McDonnell says, "I've always been comfortable being uncomfortable!" According to her, this next challenge just makes sense.

The company offers online training, primarily in safety, but also includes leadership soft-skill training which is McDonnell's current area of focus.  The lady has capacity to spare and decided to take on an MBA program over the past two years as well, and her final project is focused on how safety leaders can learn and develop the key skills and attributes needed to truly improve safety performance and culture.  She plans to use that experience as the foundation for the next level of learning offered at Solera Learning Services.  After one year, McDonnell has big plans for her company and expects to include personal consultation and leadership development to the company's offerings in the near future.
