"Advance assessment of freedom to operate and the need to secure patents and possibly licenses in both foreign markets and the United States is so critical to all parties active in health science industries that IP Diligence must be everyone's top priority.  That means staying current on new developments in law as well as science, including impending changes in the PTO, the courts and the Congress.  And, deepening understandings so as to enable realistic and reliable predictions on patentability, scope of protection, potential liabilities, valuations, damages and injunctions."  They continued, "Such IP Diligence applies equally in litigation and deal-making.  We are thrilled to be speaking together at this event dedicated to these crucial aspects of the life sciences industry."

In response, Lisa J. Piccolo, Senior Director of Programming at ACI noted, "we are honored to have Mr. Johnson and Judge Michel participate in this year's conference.
