NEW YORK - Sept. 25, 2018 - PRLog -- American Conference Institute (ACI) is pleased to announce that Philip Johnson, Former Senior VP of IP Policy and Strategy at Johnson & Johnson, and Ret. Chief Judge Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will present at ACI's 2nd Annual Life Sciences IP Due Diligence Conference taking place at the Boston Plaza Hotel in Boston on November 29-30, 2018.

Mr. Johnson and Judge Michel will engage in a fireside chat on Global Factors Influencing IP Due Diligence.  Reacting to this unique and important topic, Mr. Johnson and Judge Michel commented,

"Advance assessment of freedom to operate and the need to secure patents and possibly licenses in both foreign markets and the United States is so critical to all parties active in health science industries that IP Diligence must be everyone's top priority.  That means staying current on new developments in law as well as science, including impending changes in the PTO, the courts and the Congress.  And, deepening understandings so as to enable realistic and reliable predictions on patentability, scope of protection, potential liabilities, valuations, damages and injunctions."  They continued, "Such IP Diligence applies equally in litigation and deal-making.  We are thrilled to be speaking together at this event dedicated to these crucial aspects of the life sciences industry."

In response, Lisa J. Piccolo, Senior Director of Programming at ACI noted, "we are honored to have Mr. Johnson and Judge Michel participate in this year's conference. Their presence at the event is testament to the "must-attend" status of this conference for all life sciences practitioners involved in the IP due diligence process."
