By: Ardannyl Adra Young is a native of Gary, Indiana. Graduating from Roosevelt High School, Young was accepted and attended the prestigious Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio. Majoring in Education, Young has over twenty years of experience with the youth in and out of the classroom environment. Obtaining her Master's degree from the University of Detroit, she served as a social skills provider for the Detroit Impact Center on the cities Westside. Pinpointing the lack of resources available for both middle and high school students within the urban setting, she created a program that specifically addresses the overwhelming issues today's youth is faced with. During her years with the Detroit Public School System, she served as a liaison for the "Conversation about Race" project which addressed the direct concerns of African American males at Eastern Michigan University. Certified in Suicide Intervention and Color it Real HIV and Substance Abuse Training, Young is the author of three books.
