PRINCETON, N.J. - Sept. 21, 2018 - PRLog -- Morven Museum & Garden, which recently opened its new permanent exhibition  Historic Morven: A Window into America's Past, opens its doors free of charge to all Museum Day ticket holders on Saturday, September 22, 2018 as part of Smithsonian magazine's 14th annual Museum Day, a national celebration of boundless curiosity in which participating museums emulate the free admission policy at the Smithsonian Institutions' Washington DC-based museums.

Museum Day represents a nationwide commitment to access, equity and inclusion. This year's theme, "Women Making History", honors women in society who are trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation and culture, and emboldens others to be pioneers as well.

"Morven was home to many notable Americans including one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Stockton, Robert Wood Johnson, Jr., as well as five New Jersey governors," Jill Barry, Morven Executive Director noted.  "Our participation in Museum Day is particularly significant this year with our new exhibition highlighting the women, as well as the well-known patriarchs, who led on the national scene throughout New Jersey's and the nation's history."

Museum Day tickets will be available for download at Smithsonian.com/MuseumDay . Visitors who present a Museum Day ticket gain free entrance for two; one ticket permitted per email address.
