MCDONOUGH, Ga. - Sept. 16, 2018 - PRLog -- The public is invited to support women and their families — and their unique physical, emotional and social needs. From those who suffered from abuse and domestic violence to those at risk for potential homelessness, physical, psycho-emotional and sexual abuse.

As the name suggests, the Queens Charity Tea is an opportunity to create an experience that allows for some amazing women to fellowship, inspire one another and form new bonds while also raising awareness about charities that are doing amazing things in the community by helping women reclaim their lives and embrace the Queens they are.

The proceeds from the Queens' Charity Tea will be donated directly to two amazing community charities, so you can feel good about the difference you are making by attending, donating, and sponsoring.  We're proud to support Haven House and House of Dawn, both worthy organizations with strong community focus and helping women and their families get back on their feet with integrity.

This inaugural event is being hosted by June Wood, who currently serves as the Chair of the Henry County Board of Commissioners.

"We were inspired to host a Queen's Charity Tea Party in order to support a great cause and to connect women to one another in an effort to help women in need of support right here in our communities,"  said Wood who has volunteered and partnered with both organizations for over 10 years.  "Over the past 10 plus years, I have witnessed and personally supported the work that Haven House and House of Dawn have done to improve the lives of hundreds of women and children. I strongly believe that women need to help other women as noted in Titus 2:2."

An event where the premise is "We are all Queens", this Queens' Charity Tea promises to be a classy and sophisticated event with attendees in breathtaking fashion, good conversation and games.

"My prayer for this event is that women from all walks of life will find new friends, mentors, and mentees so they can learn from each other and support each other personally and professionally," Wood said.

The Queens Charity Tea event will take place on Saturday October 27, 2018 at the Henry County Chamber of Commerce Hudgins Room at 1:00pm. Guests can expect savory, bite-size sandwiches, scones or biscuits, and sweets along with a good pot of tea all provided by Thyme for Tea, a small business in the Henry County community that helps women throw tea parties for all occasions.

Tickets for the Queens' Charity Tea are $25.00 and can be purchased at tickets by visiting  Sponsorship Opportunities are available.  For more information about attending and sponsoring The Queens' Charity Tea visit or contact Lydia Pierre, Marketing Chair at
