Friends of Gregory L. Mar Create GoFundMe to Prevent Eviction/Buy His Home

SAN FRANCISCO - Sept. 14, 2018 - PRLog -- The Friends of Gregory L. Mar have set up a GoFundMe campaign  to raise $400,000 to cover legal expenses and other necessities related to the attempt by his sisters to evict him from the home his father stipulated in the Gregory L. Mar Special Needs Trust his father established for him before he died. In it, he wrote,

"It is my wish that Gregory live as independently as possible in a safe environment. My desire is that Gregory live in his private residence with personal, professional and financial assistance as needed.

I wish to supplant Gregory's living situation to the maximum extent possible without supplanting public benefits. It is my preference that Gregory receives support as necessary to avoid residing in an institutional setting."

Clearly, the sisters are breaching fiduciary trust in trying to evict Greg, who cannot stand long and has diabetes and kidney problems. Greg lives off Medi-Cal, social security disability and SNAP and barely can pay the affordable mortgage and upkeep on the house. Those are supposed to be paid for by the other trust his father made for all three siblings, but his sisters have spent most of the money frivolously on things like their children's debts. That trust now has a mere $11,000. Greg needs to thus replenish that as well.

The money is an immediate need. The first $25,000 will go towards retaining a lawyer, the next $25,000 to stave off the eviction and the rest for more lawyer's fees and the reminder of the mortgage.
