Follow on Google News | Local Tour Company, "a Tour Of Her Own," Helps Women Find Their Place In HistoryThe DC-based tour company was started by local tour guide, Kaitlin Calogera, after years of seeing a lack of women's representation in history. "Our mission is to elevate women's stories into a more prominent place in American history and culture," says Calogera. "We want to create a sustainable culture of women's tourism by collaborating with professionals to offer an innovative way to tour Washington DC." The full-day event includes nine sessions to choose from, including five historical tours and four wellness trainings such as yoga, self defense and total body circuit training. Led by licensed professional tour guides, guests will learn about women's influence on topics such as legislation, espionage, politics, the presidency, commerce and architecture. Guests can attend multiple activities between 9:00am-6:00pm, with each one lasting about 60-90 minutes. Go to www.atourofherown.com for more details and to sign up for the event.
