She moved to Alabama in 2015. She is a member of the Fairhope Writers' Group, the Alabama Writers' Forum, and the Alabama Writers Conclave. Sinclair's release, Making Raisins Dance, is a story about teachers in Los Angeles who threaten to strike. Recent riots saw teachers leave the profession for safer occupations. One science teacher never returned after screaming "SECURITY," and no one came. Someone had to teach her classes, but whom? Maybe someone who could make raisins dance. About her book, Sinclair says, "Making Raisins Dance is based on my experience teaching at an "at-risk" junior high school in Los Angeles, California. The Dancing Raisin experiment was the turning point of my short career teaching Science and Math to students that were Limited English Proficient, known as LEP students."
