ELEVATE Dog Training & Behavior Begins International Online Training, Behavior Consultations

WARRENTON, Ore. - Sept. 10, 2018 - PRLog -- Elevate Dog Training & Behavior of Oregon, owned by Rain Jordan, KPA CTP, is a canine behavior & training company dedicated to elevating the status, safety, and well-being of companion animals and their guardians via skills training (traditionally called "obedience" or "manners" training) & behavior modification, avoiding the use of fear, force, pain, intimidation, or other aversive methods or equipment. Jordan is a Certified Dog Trainer Professional and Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training & Behavior Certified Training Partner. She also holds a Certificate of Excellence from Dr. Susan G. Friedman's Applied Behavior Analysis course (LLA) for Veterinary and Animal Professionals.

Elevate Dog Training & Behavior's "Online Consults," as they are labeled on the website, cover a variety of needs, including housetraining, crate training, help with fearful dogs, and problem behavior modification. Prospective clients may request customized lessons. Further increasing access to those most in need, the cost of distance learning sessions are about half the hourly rate of in-person sessions and are private.

Jordan recounted one of many experiences that now motivates the work of Elevate: "Many years ago, a vet tech asked me to hold my sweet yet skittish rescued greyhound down on the floor so he could trim her nails. She was very much afraid of having her nails trimmed and there was no way he would have been able to do it otherwise.  She would lie there trembling and still struggling when attempts to get away had failed. Now, force-free nail trimming and stationing skills for force-free veterinary visits are key components of our curriculum.

It is an unfortunate fact that many people still are unaware that there are better ways to handle and train their beloved pets than using force, than using prong and shock collars, than using leash pops, than using squirt bottles, than yelling and pointing and glaring. But often this fact is not their fault—perhaps they were taught these habits as kids and have never been afforded the opportunity to learn a better way, just as all those years ago, I had no idea there was such a thing as force-free nail trimming.  We must be courageously kind enough to let people know there are humane options. For those who do know about the humane options but have no access to humane trainers where they reside, we want to help."

About Elevate Dog Training & Behavior
Elevate Dog Training & Behavior is the result of one woman's work to help save dogs from abuse, abandonment, and neglect. Elevate grew from Jordan's previous charity work as the trainer and behavior specialist for an international dog rescue, where she came to specialize in traumatized, fearful, and feral dogs, finding that this was a necessity in order to properly serve rescued dogs. The next realization was that rescue without training would not suffice to save these dogs' entire lives—only something that would last the dog's lifetime would be of significant service. Elevate Dog Training & Behavior was opened to help dog guardians learn how to cooperatively work with their companion canines—in hopes of giving them a life's length worth of saving, by those who love them best.

While there are various reasons individuals may decide to hire an online trainer/behavior specialist, the most notable benefits to clients (compared to in-person sessions) include accessibility, affordability, convenience, and choice. The online sessions can be taken from almost anywhere, are half the price of in-person sessions, require no travel and therefore take less time and other arrangement-making, and provide literally a world of options rather than just those to which you can drive.  For some people, having the choice of online training means no longer having no choice at all.  Many people live where no positive reinforcement, anti-aversive trainers or behavior specialists reside.
